Irisbus Iveco marketed 10,077 vehicles in 2007
Irisbus Iveco, the second largest European manufacturer of buses and coaches posted sales of 1.279 billion euros in 2007, a 5% increase from 2006.
This performance was achieved by the sale of 10,077 vehicles (up 8.4% from 2006) which includes 3,256 coaches, 2,384 city buses, 1,118 chassis and 3,319 minibuses and truck derived vehicles.
Irisbus Iveco vehicles were produced at Vysoké Myto in the Czech Republic (Recreo, Crossway, Crossway LE and Arway coaches), Annonay (Citelis bus, Evadys and Magelys coaches) and Rorthais (GX buses and midibuses, Civis and Cristalis) in France, Valle Ufita in Italy (Citelis and EuroPolis buses, Domino coaches), Budapest in Hungary (Midys and Midway coaches) and Barcelona in Spain (EuroRider and MidiRider chassis). The Daily minibus and modified truck chassis are manufactured in the Iveco factories.
The workforce of Irisbus Iveco comprised 5,581 employees as of 31st December 2007.
Irisbus Iveco has delivered 8,306 vehicles in 2007 with GVW of over 3.5 tonnes in an expanded Europe with 27 countries (EU + Switzerland + Norway) and claimed a market share of 20.1%, comfortably consolidating its second position in the European market. The brand is a leader in the French, Italian, Spanish, Czech, Slovakian and Romanian markets.
More than 1,700 vehicles were delivered to markets outside Europe, mainly to Tunisia, Israel and Iran.
The launch of the Crossway LE (Low Entry) at the UITP congress in Helsinki in May and the presentation of the luxury coach Magelys at Busworld in Courtrai in October were the highlight events of 2007.
